The discussion I want to participate in with this project is, what is this searching for home? Is it a symptom of the fractured society we live in and how does it contribute to this ‘epidemic’ of loneliness? And with this in mind, what is living in this time like?
Todd Hido’s work ‘Foreclosed Homes’’ is concerned with the deeply troubled economic climate at the time the works are ultimately about people it’s this connection between people’s lives and society that I feel is relevant to my work as well as the haunting aesthetics and content of the images themselves that suggest the broken lives, or loss of the people that lived in them.
