Project Title: Requiem for a Dream
A ‘Requiem’ is an act or token of remembrance for the repose of the souls of the dead. The project has evolved from my original proposal yet it is still focused on dreams, home and a journey. It is a storey played in six progressions from a beginning to end and these progressions, or ‘acts’ all have meaning to me and represent a significant point along this personal journey. Like earlier work ‘Requiem for a Dream’ is about loss, loneliness, longing, isolation and more importantly, the human condition. It is also about hope and beauty explored through the ‘periphery’ between real and surreal, conscious and unconscious, night & day and presence & absence.
