Week 4 - Reflection on supervisor meeting

It was good to clarify what my project is about but it was pointed out that in my proposal I'd referred to this as a literary project and that may be a bit limiting. I agree, as the letters are taking far less work than the visual components every week. I will amend it to 'a multi-media project including text in the form of letters, photographs, video, sound and installation.

I'm finding my job, the problems with Teams / Microsoft office, lack of gear and the ever extending 6th lockdown demanding. For example, I spent the day at 7am-9p, rushing to a deadline with 3! catchup meetings to check how we are travelling and having a master class with Les Walkely that I REALLY wanted to give full attention to in the background 10.30a - 5.30p. Yet the wekends are mine to concentrate fully on project work. And feel I'm very focused and working well even though its all a bit 'bitsy' right now, so feel my supervisor hasn't a lot to go on right now. I know I will be hitting my supervisor up for lots of guidance on presentation, installation and general advice once things are made.

We talked about the document structure plan. I feel lucky I have a one on one time to discuss all things academic with an academic that is also a working photographer.

Cindy Sherman was mentioned to add to my list of artists to research. And Pippilotti Rist, yet I couldn't get access to the actual 'Sip my Ocean' 2 channel video / audio installation from the link. I have seen the entire exhibition but this was years ago and I want to see it in relation to this project.
